Artist Statment

My art stems from observation—extending beyond just the visual to capture the gesture of moments. These fragments are then compressed, spatially and temporally to elicit environments and narratives. Personal, private experiences have instigated my creative journey, but the social, or humanitarian pulls it forward: interrogating the role of an artist as an actor in my observed society. The abstract work lies somewhere amidst these ends, as a visceral and phenomenal experience. I pay homage to the non-physical but real, internal and external.
