I am a New York City based artist who is heavily influenced by urban activity. The foundation of my work lies in observation, drawing and painting from life in public and private spaces. My more conceptual work focuses on compiling and compressing the moments, spatially and temporally to create environments or interiors. So far, my work has been primarily from personal, private experiences, using memory as a stand-in for observation but equally relying on gesture as a stand-in for environment. My more abstract work lies somewhere between visceral and phenomenal - using texture as physical appeal and the color, composition of pieces to invoke something mentally, psychologically.
